Overview

Who We Are
Achieve Hartford! is an independent organization recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. It has been established to monitor, support and be a catalyst for education reform and community involvement in the Hartford Public School District. 

We believe that a system of high-performing public schools is essential for our children and for the future of Hartford. To accomplish this goal, we work in partnership with the business, civic, educational communities and parents to monitor, support and encourage community-wide reform efforts.

What We Do
We believe that the best way to create and sustain a system of high performing schools is to:

  • Raise awareness around education issues in Hartford
  • Hold leadership, officials and the community accountable for district improvement
  • Engage parents, business, community and school leaders to participate in education improvement

How We Operate
We operate with objectives of monitoring, supporting and being a catalyst for education reform and community involvement. Our organization is founded on the following principles:

  • Be an independent voice
  • Hold a relevant point of view
  • Provide education insight to the Hartford community
  • Collaborate with diverse community members
  • Drive community ownership of reform
  • Ensure education improvement is continuous and long-term

We are affiliated with the Public Education Network (PEN), a national organization formed to mobilize support for public schools.  Achieve Hartford! is one of a select group of Local Education Funds chosen to participate in PEN’s Leadership Institute.
