SmartChoices

SmartChoices is an interactive website designed to help parents in the Greater Hartford region sort through their public school choices. By simply typing a home address and child’s grade into a search box, a parent can learn all of the public schools for which a child is eligible. The website contains more than 200 schools in the City of Hartford and its adjacent and nearby suburban districts. Schools are listed by name, distance, racial balance and test score growth data.

Formed in 2008, SmartChoices began as a partnership between Achieve Hartford!, the Cities, Suburbs, Schools Project at Trinity College, and Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now (ConnCAN) to fill the information gap that had been undercutting the promise of school choice in the Greater Hartford region.
